Jon Tests is built around first-hand use, original photos and independent conclusions. Brands and manufacturers are welcome to offer products for possible testing and review.
Product review enquiries
If you have a product that fits Jon Tests, email [email protected].
Please include: the product name, a product or store link, where it is sold, whether the sample is gifted or needs to be returned, and any genuine timing or embargo requirements.
What I can consider
- Products supplied for independent review. I may accept a gifted or loaned sample when I can test it meaningfully.
- Longer-term product testing. Some products are more useful after weeks or months of real use rather than a quick first impression.
- Sponsored content or partnerships. These may be considered separately when they fit the site and can be clearly disclosed.
- Follow-up testing. I may update a review when longer use changes the conclusion or reveals durability issues.
What a product submission does — and does not — mean
Sending a product does not guarantee publication, a positive review, a particular rating or a specific publication date.
If I publish a review, the conclusions are based on my actual experience with the product. I may report both strengths and problems, and I do not sell positive ratings or predetermined verdicts.
If a product is supplied free, loaned or otherwise provided by a brand, that relationship will be disclosed clearly to readers. Sponsored content will also be identified as sponsored.
How I review products
My reviews are intended to show what using a product is actually like. Depending on the product, that can include:
- original photos taken during real use;
- practical testing over an appropriate period;
- real-world strengths, weaknesses and annoyances;
- comparison with products I have genuinely used;
- clear separation between my experience and manufacturer claims;
- updates when longer-term ownership adds useful information.

Editorial independence
A brand may provide factual corrections before or after publication, but it does not control my rating, conclusions, pros and cons, or overall recommendation. I will correct factual mistakes, but I will not remove legitimate criticism simply because a company dislikes it.
Sponsored and affiliate relationships
Commercial relationships are disclosed. Payment, affiliate participation or a free product does not buy a positive conclusion. Paid or sponsored links are marked appropriately, and readers can also review the site’s Affiliate Disclosure.
What I do not offer
- guaranteed positive reviews;
- guaranteed five-star ratings;
- hidden sponsorships;
- undisclosed paid links;
- brand approval of the final opinion or rating;
- claims that I tested something I did not actually use.
Shipping and returns
Please do not send products without arranging it first. If a product is a good fit, shipping details can be agreed by email. If a sample must be returned, that should be made clear before it is sent, including who covers return shipping.
